Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dietetic team at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a 0.7 WTE Band 6 Specialist Gastroenterology Dietitian. The successful candidate will be part of the Gastroenterology Dietetic team and be involved in delivering specialist outpatient services to our patients. This role offers flexible and hybrid working, as well as a range of professional development opportunities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and flexible Dietitian who is keen to develop their professional skills, knowledge and experience. The post holder should be interested in exploring new ways of working within an evolving NHS, while delivering high quality patient care and promoting the dietetic profession within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will join our gastroenterology dietetics team, which provides a service to adult gastroenterology inpatients and outpatients at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team of 6 gastroenterology dietitians and a dietetic support worker.

This is an outpatient role, providing a specialist dietetic service for patients with a range of gastrointestinal conditions including IBS, coeliac disease, liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. You will be involved in delivering face to face, telephone and virtual appointments as well as group education sessions. The post also includes regular attendance at MDT meetings. In addition to clinical duties, the post holder will have the opportunity to support staff and student development through supervision, contribute to service improvement and audit initiatives, and participate in the development and implementation of innovative working practices. Teamworking, excellent communication skills and the ability to work under own initiative are essential.
