Position Overview

World Leading Energy Company is seeking a Gas Shift Trading Operator to join the Operations Shift Team within the European Gas & Power operations. This role involves managing energy trading activities in a 24-hour shift environment, focusing on operational management of gas and environmental trading activities.

This is a 12-month initial contract with potential for permanent employment. Competitive hourly pay rate.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with contractual and license obligations, adhering to regulatory and policy requirements.
2. Accurately nominate and schedule supplies, trading hubs, storages, interconnectors, and pipelines.
3. Optimize portfolio both financially and physically.
4. Monitor gas markets, flow data, and portfolio balances.
5. Use market and asset spreads across Europe for portfolio optimization.

Operational Details

The shift team comprises eight members working a 24/7 pattern, managing approximately 130 Bcm annually across 13 European countries with around 2,000 trades daily involving about 200 counterparties. The role requires working outside normal hours, including weekends and overnight shifts, often independently.
