Gas Service Engineer (Heating Appliances)

The Company: Are you somebody who loves variety in your workload, and can travel throughout North Wales and North West England to service and maintain a broad range of heating products including Gas, Electric and Solid fuel heating appliances? If you’re also happy to stay away from home for up to 4 nights per week, covering the SY, LL, CH, CW, WA, L TF & WN postcodes, then this could be just the job for you. Your primary responsibility will be the completion of warranty and annual service work for Gas, Electric and Solid Fuel heating appliances. There’s no messy installation work, and you get paid every day for the work you do: it’s a full‑time, permanent job, with benefits and no self‑employed admin headache! You’ll be provided with a fully equipped van and all of your overnight accommodation will be paid for up front.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure all service and warranty calls are carried out professionally, timely and accurately, completing issues on the first visit.
  • Identify if the reported issue is a manufacturing fault or installation/user fault and charge appropriately.
  • Ensure end‑user safety in accordance with all relevant regulations for installation and use.
  • Issue safety notices if required and complete required paperwork after each client visit.
  • Record all tests, work and faults found on the laptop/iPad and upload to the company database regularly.
Required Skills and Certifications
  • Proven experience working with heating appliances or servicing comparable equipment in the field.
  • CCN1 (Domestic Core Gas Safety)
  • HTR1 (Gas Fires & Wall Heaters)
  • CONGLP1 (LPG Changeover)
  • CPA1 – Combustion Analysis
  • GAS SAFE requirements (OFTEC also an advantage) or RGI/II
  • Valid, clean UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of software programmes including e‑mail and Word.

  • Part P Electrical Safety
  • HETAS Certification

Working Hours

8:30‑5:00 Mon‑Fri with overnight stays required.

Location: Flint, Fintshire • Salary: £36,750 per annum • Company van, mobile, laptop provided. The role is full‑time, permanent.
