Job summary

Together Housing Group is seeking 2 Gas Installation Technicians to join our busy team. You will install, replace, upgrade and commission domestic heating and hot water systems within both tenanted and vacant properties, following job tickets, Opti-Time appointment slots, specifications, contract drawings and applicable regulations.

This role covers locations across North and West Yorkshire, requiring high standards of compliance with Gas Safe and Building Regulations, and a focus on delivering

Qualifications

• Full Manual UK Driving Licence required.
• ACS accreditations CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1, UDHW.
• City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Gas Maintenance or NVQ Level 3.
• Experience in installation, fault finding and servicing on domestic gas appliances.
• Experience maximizing number of jobs completed in one visit.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Experience working directly with customers.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, replacement and commissioning of boilers, central heating, hot water cylinders and controls.
• Follow manufacturers' instructions, Building Regulations and Gas Safety Regulations.
• Install, commission and test Y Plan and S Plan systems.
• Install and integrate solar thermal hot water systems.
• Alter pipework, gas supplies, flues and condensate systems as needed.
• Commission installed systems and complete all certification and documentation.
• Balance systems, perform checks and handovers for efficiency.
• Interpret drawings and work schedules to meet standards and timelines.
• Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe, Health & Safety and company policies.
• Identify safety concerns and report defects during installation.
• Complete accurate job records and electronic reporting.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contractors for safe, efficient work.
• Carry out risk assessments before work and protect residents and staff.

You will also be responsible for commissioning systems, completing all required certification and providing excellent customer service to residents throughout the installation process.

Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities for the Gas installation Technician…

• To Carry out all types of Installation, replace and commission domestic gas boilers, central heating systems, hot water cylinders, radiators and associated controls in both tenanted and void properties.
• To Carry out full heating system installations in accordance with manufacturers' instructions, design specifications, Building Regulations and Gas Safety Regulations.
• To Install, commission and test Y Plan and S Plan heating and hot water control systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• To Install and integrate solar thermal hot water systems with conventional domestic heating and hot water systems.
• To Undertake alterations to pipework, gas supplies, flues and condensate systems as required for new installations.
• Commission installed systems, perform operational testing and complete all relevant certification and compliance documentation.
• Conduct system balancing, performance checks and handovers to ensure optimum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and work schedules to deliver installations to the required standard and programme.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with current Gas Safe requirements, Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
• Identify and report any additional works, defects or safety concerns encountered during installation activities.
• Accurately complete job records, installation documentation and electronic reporting systems.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and other departments to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently and right first time.
• To carry out appropriate risk assessments prior to commencement of work. Ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to protect the health, safety and welfare of you, tenants, work colleagues and members of the public
• You will be expected to be able to rationally diagnose a course of action to problem solve repairs without excessive use of either materials or time.
• As part of the bigger team of technicians, you will be expected to multi skill and undertake other trade functions in particularly related to prime Gas jobs

We are looking for someone who has…

• A Full Manual UK Driving License
• ACS accreditations, CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1, UDHW
• City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Gas Maintenance or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)
• Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified Gas Technician working in building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience of installation, fault finding and servicing on domestic gas appliances and central heating systems.
• Experience of maximising number of jobs completed and repairs completed in one visit.
• Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and how it impacts on the way building repairs are carried out.
• Experience working directly with customers, and excellent customer service skills.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential for accurately and thoroughly completing job tickets, time sheets, gas certificates, and other related documentation.

• Starting salary of£37,977 7 up to £40,791 - Depending on experience
• You will cover locations across North and West Yorkshire.
• Additional earning from the call out rota opt-in

• 27 days holiday(rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays
• You will work a total of 37 hours per week, scheduled between 08:00 and 19:30 across any five days from Monday to Saturday. The exact schedule will depend on business needs at the time. However, to give an idea, a typical working week may be Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:00 and Friday from 08:00 to 15:30. Please note that this is subject to change based on business requirements.
