Job description

Our client, a well-established company that has been providing high quality building support services for decades is currently on the lookout for a domestic gas engineer to join their team. This organisation specialises in delivering mechanical, electrical, and security solutions across multiple sectors, including local authorities, NHS trusts, social landlords, and private clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing and remedial repairs of gas fired heating boilers in both occupied and unoccupied properties. You will work to ensure all tasks are completed in line with client specifications, adhering to current gas legislation and health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out servicing and maintenance of gas heating boilers and associated systems
  • Complete full commissioning of gas heating boilers and controls upon installation or servicing
  • Demonstrate strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills to carry out repairs and replace defective parts
  • Drain and re‑fill heating systems when necessary, to remove and replace faulty radiators or isolation valves
  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, including risk assessments and asbestos awareness
  • Participate in out of hours emergency call outs on a rota basis
  • Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested by the client or management team
  • Good knowledge of breakdown diagnostics and repair
Qualifications
  • A valid CSCS card and awareness of boiler fluing arrangements, especially in building fabric materials
  • Asbestos awareness and trained to work with vulnerable persons
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at height
  • Willingness to participate in the on‑call rota for emergency call‑outs
  • Current ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1)
  • Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent
  • Full Time Permanent
