Job summary

Mears Group is looking for a Gas Engineer to join the Spennymoor area with a company van and fuel card. The role involves servicing, repairs, and installations across occupied properties, with emphasis on safety and compliance following gas regulations.

Qualifications

• Gas servicing and repairs experience is essential.
• ACS certifications CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 required.
• City & Guilds Gas Service Engineer qualification preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ability to provide own hand tools.
• Experience in social housing advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out gas servicing and repairs in occupied properties.
• Complete boiler servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Undertake annual gas safety inspections and compliance checks.
• Carry out new gas installations where required.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Inspect flue systems and access loft spaces as needed.
• Access and inspect gas meters for safe operation and readings.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Work independently while delivering high standards of customer service.
• Participate in emergency call-out rota as required.
