Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Gas Engineer for a permanent role in Irthlingborough. The position is full-time, Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4.30pm, with a salary around £35,000 plus bonus and benefits.

The role focuses on gas detection and location systems, with opportunities for training and progression. The successful candidate will lead technical activities, support customers, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards in a fast-paced workshop

Qualifications

• Gas Engineer with experience in gas detection equipment or location systems.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, repair, and calibrate gas detection and location systems.
• Act as the technical lead for your product category, ensuring compliance with legislation and manufacturer requirements.
• Review and approve calibration and service documentation.
• Investigate equipment faults, failures, and customer issues.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers (phone, email, onsite).
• Mentor engineers and trainees, supporting skills development.
• Conduct quality checks and contribute to process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records in Syrinx and support hire/sales order processing.
• Uphold workshop safety, housekeeping, and operational standards.
• Deputise for the Workshop Manager when required.

Join a leading UK supplier of confined space and site safety equipment as an experienced Gas Engineer specialising in Gas Detection and Location Systems to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities for the Gas Engineer

• Inspect, service, repair, and calibrate gas detection and location systems.
• Act as the technical lead for your product category, ensuring compliance with legislation and manufacturer requirements.
• Review and approve calibration and service documentation.
