Job summary

A national heating contractor is seeking self-employed heating engineers for ongoing contracts with a local housing association. Candidates will need to perform Landlord Gas Safety Checks and Central Heating Repairs, committing to at least 3 days per week. Ideal candidates will have ACS qualifications and Gas Safe Registration. The role offers weekly payments, full PPE, and all appointments are pre-booked. A long-term opportunity is available for the right individuals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of qualified experience as a heating engineer required.
  • Must hold ACS qualifications including CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires).
  • Possession of Gas Safe Registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Landlord Gas Safety Checks and Central Heating Repairs.
  • Work at client's locations with pre-booked appointments.
  • Commit to a minimum of 3 days per week.

Example Recruitment Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a national heating contractor operating within the local authority sector. They require self‑employed heating engineers for an ongoing contract with a local housing association.

Contract Details

Location: WV, WS, ST, DE (to be booked in one location for the day)

Contract: Housing Association

Work Type: Landlord Gas Safety Checks and Central Heating Repairs

Commitment: Minimum 3 days per week

Contract Length: Ongoing

Payment Terms: Weekly in arrears (one week)

Rates
  • £23.48 per Landlord Gas Safety Record
  • Plus winter incentive of £40.00 per day if engineer commits to 5 days per week (additional £200.00 per week) effective until end of February 2026
