Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours/week)

About the Role

Our client is recruiting for a Gas Engineer to join their team, working on a repairs and maintenance contract for properties across Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

As a Gas Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient servicing, maintenance, and repair of gas systems in residential and commercial properties, in line with regulatory standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and servicing of gas appliances and heating systems.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Liaise with clients and tenants to explain required work and provide maintenance advice.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members when needed.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.

Who We Are Looking For
  • Gas Safe Registered (Gas Safe ID)
  • Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in gas engineering (minimum level 3)
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in construction
  • Experience in gas appliance installation, maintenance, and repairs
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in a similar role within property maintenance or construction
  • Additional qualifications in plumbing or heating systems are a plus
  • Knowledge of building regulations and energy efficiency standards
