Job summary

Wolviston Management Services seeks an experienced Gas Distribution Trainer in Daventry to deliver practical and classroom-based training for gas distribution operations. You will guide delegates through gas mains and service laying, safety procedures and industry standards, empowering them to perform with confidence and competence.

The role requires hands-on gas distribution experience and relevant qualifications, with an emphasis on safety, instruction, and learner development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with QA teams to maintain training and assessment standards.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Gas Distribution professional to move into a rewarding training role.

We are currently recruiting for a Gas Distribution Trainer to join an established technical training provider specialising in utilities and safety-critical industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in gas mains and service laying, network maintenance or pressure control to share their industry expertise and support the development of skilled professionals within the gas distribution sector.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessments, ensuring delegates develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and safety awareness required to work effectively within the gas industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and classroom-based training and assessments covering gas distribution operations.
• Support delegates in developing their knowledge and competence in gas mains and service laying.
• Deliver training covering relevant industry standards, safety procedures and operational practices.
• Work closely with operational teams to develop and maintain training materials and facilities.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain training and assessment standards.
• Create an engaging and supportive learning environment for delegates with varying levels of experience.

Skills & Experience Required

• Practical experience laying low and medium pressure gas mains and services within domestic, commercial or industrial environments, or experience in pressure control and network maintenance.
• NCO2 Gas Main/Service Laying qualification.
• Knowledge and experience of Safe Control of Operations.
• Experience with PE (Polyethylene) welding techniques.
• Strong understanding of gas distribution operations and safe working practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage learners and confidently deliver technical information.
• Organised, self-motivated and passionate about developing others.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Experience installing, maintaining and inspecting trench support and shaft systems during live excavations.
• Knowledge of deep excavations exceeding two metres.
• NRSWA Supervisor qualification.
• Level 3 Teaching Qualification (PTLLS, AET or equivalent).
• Level 3 Assessor Qualification (CAVA or equivalent).
