TRP Recruitment Limited is working with an established fashion business in Greater London to recruit an experienced Menswear Garment Technologist.

You will own designated menswear styles from initial sample through production, set up accurate specifications, lead fit sessions and coordinate with factories to action comments.

Key strengths include strong understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, grading and fit, plus highly organised, proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of designated menswear styles from initial sample through to production.
• Setting up and maintaining accurate specifications, workbooks and technical documentation.
• Leading fit sessions and providing clear, detailed fit comments and amendments.
• Communicating directly with factories to resolve technical queries and ensure comments are actioned correctly.
• Reviewing samples at each stage and ensuring they meet required measurements, construction and quality standards.
• Managing sample priorities and technical critical path deadlines across multiple styles.
• Working closely with the Senior Garment Technologist and wider product team to support smooth and timely product development.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Menswear Garment Technologist to join the technical team of an established fashion business. This role would suit someone who has already built solid garment technology experience and is confident taking greater ownership across fittings, specifications, sample development and factory communication.

The role is fully office based and will involve managing styles through the technical process with a high level of accuracy, while working closely with the Senior Garment Technologist, design, production and overseas factories.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of designated menswear styles from initial sample through to production
• Setting up and maintaining accurate specifications, workbooks and technical documentation
• Leading fit sessions and providing clear, detailed fit comments and amendments
• Communicating directly with factories to resolve technical queries and ensure comments are actioned correctly
• Reviewing samples at each stage and ensuring they meet required measurements, construction and quality standards
• Managing sample priorities and technical critical path deadlines across multiple styles
• Working closely with the Senior Garment Technologist and wider product team to support smooth and timely product development

Person specification:

• Previous experience working as a Garment Technologist within menswear
• Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, grading and fit
• Confident leading fit sessions and communicating technical comments clearly to factories
• Experience managing styles through the sample and development process with good commercial awareness
• Highly organised, proactive and detail focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
