Job summary

Connaught Care is seeking a practical Gardening & Driving Assistant to maintain our gardens and support driving duties across our homes. This role is seasonal, active, and focused on creating welcoming outdoor spaces for residents and visitors.

Applicants should have gardening experience, a full UK driving licence, and a friendly, professional approach to residents and colleagues. This is a part-time, permanent position based in Huntingdon area.

Responsibilities

• Basic vehicle checks and upkeep.

The Role

This is aseasonal, varied, and practical role:

• Maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and pathways
• Seasonal planting, pruning, weeding, and watering
• Keeping outdoor areas safe, tidy, and welcoming
• Supporting creative displays and resident gardening activities

November – March (Maintenance Support)

• Assisting with minor repairs and redecorating
• Helping keep communal areas safe and well presented

Year-round

• Driving the company minibus for resident outings
• Deliveries, collections, and inter-home support
• Basic vehicle checks and upkeep

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance
• Practical DIY or maintenance skills
• A friendly, professional approach with residents and colleagues
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Ability to work both outdoors and indoors across the seasons
• Basic health & safety knowledge
