Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Gardener to maintain our care home grounds to the highest standards, ensuring outdoor spaces are welcoming and safe for residents. You will manage equipment and fencing, clear snow in winter, and plant a variety of plants.
The role emphasizes health and safety, COSHH-compliant chemical use, and teamwork with staff to support resident wellbeing in a supportive environment.
As a Gardener at a Barchester care home, you will help create the kind of stimulating environment that enables us to deliver quality, person-centred care. By maintaining our grounds to the highest standards, you will ensure our home always makes a great first impression, and that our outside areas can be fully enjoyed by residents looking for some fresh air or a change of scenery. Your role as a Gardener will involve looking after our equipment and structures like fencing, keeping our grounds safe and tidy (including clearing any snow and ice in the winter), and planting a range of flowers, shrubs and trees. Once a year, you will be able to showcase your talents in our fiercely-contested Barchester in Bloom competition.
If you have a passion for the great outdoors, you could be perfect for the role of Gardener at Barchester. One of your key priorities will be making sure your work fits around the needs of our residents, so a patient and empathetic approach is key. As well as general gardening experience, we will also need to see a good understanding of health and safety and the ability to use garden treatment chemicals in line with COSHH regulations. Trustworthy and professional with a can-do approach, you are a great team player who will take a genuine interest in the lives and wellbeing of our residents.
If you would like to use your attention to detail and people skills in an organisation that provides the quality care you would expect for your loved ones, this is a rewarding place to be.
