Job summary

Harbour Healthcare is seeking a diligent Gardener to maintain the grounds of Harbour View Lodge Care Home in Whitehaven. This part-time role covers 20 hours per week at £13.53 per hour, with duties including lawn care, borders, seasonal planting, hedge trimming and general site maintenance.

You will work as part of the care home team to ensure the exterior is clean, safe and welcoming, reporting hazards to the Home Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have full UK driving license.
• Previous gardening experience essential.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Plant knowledge.
• Motivated and organised.
• Good time-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
• Two suitable references.

We are looking for a Gardener 20 hours

£13.53 per hr

Duties will include:

• Grass cutting
• Weeding
• Pruning
• Seasonal planting
• Hedge cutting
• Garden clearance
• Strimming
• Use of grass cutters and other machinery.
• Implement actions to meet and maintain standards.
• Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise..
• Routine maintenance such as litter collection and sweeping.
• Report and action any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture / equipment and any other potential hazards to the Home Manager, who will advise accordingly.
• Ensure the exterior of the Nursing Home is always clean and presentable.
• Keep any sheds, outbuildings and areas clean and tidy.
• Clear snow and grit the drive, paths and any areas to which Clients, Visitors or Staff Members have access.
