Job summary

Roe Restaurant in London’s Wood Wharf is seeking a passionate gardener to maintain our hydroponic and aeroponic growing wall and the restaurant terraces. You will work around a flexible, mainly Monday–Friday schedule with some weekends, contributing to a forward-thinking dining concept.

The ideal candidate has at least two years’ professional gardening experience, solid plant knowledge, and a reliable, team-oriented work ethos. Roe offers growth opportunities and a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Care and maintain the hydroponic and aeroponic growing wall and restaurant terraces.
• Provide care, maintenance and watering of planted terraces.
• Do seasonal planting refreshes of restaurant terraces.
• Focus on Roe Hydroponics and terrace maintenance, with gardening maintenance and project support across locations.

Job description

Conscious & creative dining in the heart of Wood Wharf from the trio behind Fallow restaurant. Named after native deer of the British Isles, Roe will follow the same nose-to-tail and root-to-stem ethos as its critically acclaimed sister restaurant, Fallow St James’s.

The extensive a la carte menu will be divided into nibbles and flatbreads, skewers, and grilled options, with larger plates and sides also available. As well as championing modest, British ingredients, Roe’s dishes will showcase underused and underappreciated produce.

At Roe, we take pride in our innovative hydroponic and aeroponic growing wall, where we cultivate a variety of fresh ingredients—including jalapeños, Padrón peppers, cucumbers, peas, and an array of herbs from lovage to verbena. Key Responsibilities:

• Working hours are flexible and part time, mainly Monday to Friday with some weekends.
• To care and maintain the hydroponic and aeroponic growing wall and the restaurant’s terraces at Wood Wharf.
• To provide care, maintenance and watering of our planted restaurant terraces.
• To do seasonal planting refreshes of our restaurant terraces.
• The role will be focussing on Roe Hydroponics and terrace maintenance, but with gardening maintenance and project support across all restaurant locations.
