Job summary

High Life Highland is seeking an archivist/engagement role to support the Gaelic Consortium project, promoting a positive culture and coordinating public engagement.

You will catalogue bilingual Gaelic/English archives, identify digitisation candidates, and develop exhibitions and community workshops across venues.

The role requires collaboration with partners, volunteer coordination, and reporting on project progress.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive, collaborative culture aligned with the charity's purpose and i-care values to boost morale and performance.
• Be the first point of contact for the Gaelic Consortium project, supporting delivery, public engagement and exhibitions.
• Catalogue and document Gaelic/English archive collections, ensure bilingual descriptions and access.
• Identify material for digitisation and perform scanning using specialist equipment.
• Develop and promote Gaelic archive collections and exhibitions for diverse audiences.
• Deliver Gaelic and English engagement activities, both digital and in person, to explore and interpret the collections.
• Plan and deliver community curation workshops, talks, blogs and a travelling exhibition across venues.
• Identify volunteering opportunities and support volunteer contributions to the project.
• Promote Gaelic archive collections via social media, events and other channels.
• Assist with monitoring and evaluating project activities and provide progress reports and statistics.
• Maintain awareness of risk management responsibilities per HLH policy.
