Role/Department

The FX Product team supports Northern Trust's FX businesses. Reporting into the Global Head of FX Product, the individual will primarily support business leads, product leads and technology partners to perform business analysis, help define and establish requirements for new and existing workflows and capabilities, support product leads to execute on product strategy and help in developing new client products and capabilities leading to the overall growth of business revenues and profitability.

  • Perform business analysis and map out existing workflows identifying challenges and areas of improvement
  • Support product managers in defining requirements for new workflows and capabilities
  • Work with IT on estimations and prioritization
  • Participate in supplier calls with venues, exchanges and liquidity providers to understand change to Northern Trust's FX products and services
  • Work with operational teams to understand downstream impact of change
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and awareness of FX legal requirements, regulatory environment, and marketing trends in the industry to determine the directional impact of change
  • Collaborate with PMO; technology; risk & compliance; operations and senior management to ensure execution aligned with the product roadmap
  • Participate in FX business initiatives related to FX Payments, eFX, Trading, Voice Sales, Transactional FX or FX wide initiatives related to market structure or regulatory changes
Skills/Qualifications
  • Deep FX experience in a front office business analysis role within a custody bank
  • Knowledge of how FX is processed within a custody bank covering securities settlement, middle office operations and front office execution required
  • Experience in FX transformation in terms of people, process and technology at a custody bank is required
  • Additional knowledge in FX Payments, eFX and FX Overlay is preferred
  • In-depth functional / industry knowledge of the FX market required
  • Ability to work closely with technology utilizing agile techniques and understanding technology terminology required
  • Prior experience of using JIRA or similar tool required
  • Excellent in building key relationships, influencing and negotiating with partners and leaders across multiple disciplines
  • Program or project management experience is advantageous; planning, analysis, design and governance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Analytics skills e.g. excel, python are preferred
