Your role
  • We are seeking an experienced candidate to join our FX Options E-Trading Quantitative Developer team
  • Sit within the Principal E-Trading business (covering FX, PM, Rates, Credit and Equities) and develop next generation algorithmic trading solutions
  • The team sits within the Global Markets Principal Flow Trading stream, and has a business reporting line
  • Operate within a high-performing, fast paced quant development team, whose goals are directly aligned to the business

Your team

You’ll be working in the UBS FX Options E-Trading team in London. The role involves hands‑on implementation of technical solutions for the market making of FX options electronically. This is a great opportunity to get involved with different projects and gain exposure to algo trading and the technologies associated with it. A successful candidate will take part in the full SDLC (from analysis to implementation and support) of different projects within the team. There is a strong interaction with the business based in London as well as with other quants and IT teams located in London, Zurich and Pune.

  • Part of the Principal Flow Trading Quant Development department, alongside teams aligned to eFX Spot, eRates, eCredit, Equity Derivatives, and Cash Equities
  • Focused on maximising automation and performance in order to drive E-Trading revenues
  • Operating in a highly agile manner, releasing to production multiple times per day
  • The team is known for being collaborative and diverse, with a mandate to deliver meaningful change
Your expertise
  • Strong server-side Java development experience with concurrency skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working experience in agile SDLC methodology, including Git and CI/CD
  • Beneficial to have experience with messaging libraries and protocols including FIX, Kafka, EMS, SBE, Aeron
  • Ability to work closely with the trading desk delivering iteratively as part of a global team
  • Familiarity with time-series databases (preferably KDB)
  • A working understanding of derivatives or trading is very beneficial
