Job description

We're seeking a future team member for the role of FX eTrading Java Back-End Engineer, Vice President to join our FX eTrading Engineering team. This role is located in Manchester. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

Responsibilities
  • Consult with Product, Sales, Trading and Operations teams to design and develop backend and front features and components for FX Trading applications
  • Program well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
  • Analyze, design, and develop tests and test-automation suites.
  • Scale the backend architecture and codebase to support growth.
  • Reduce the level of technical debt of the backend codebase.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
  • Participate in deployment process following all change controls.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience in software development required; experience in the financial services industry, particularly in FX Trading Applications, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as an integral part of an agile software development team.
  • Strong Java development skills, including experience with multi-threaded and mission critical applications.
  • Exposure and knowledge of front end technologies such as React and Angular.
  • Experience with relational database technologies, including SQL proficiency.
