Further Education Lecturer – Construction

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear

Salary: £85 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent

GSL Education are currently seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Further Education Lecturer in Construction to join a thriving post-16 provision in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional or qualified tutor to inspire and guide learners towards achieving their vocational qualifications and career goals.

Job Summary
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in Construction up to Level 2 (including units such as bricklaying, plastering, painting & decorating, and design technology).
  • Develop course materials, lesson plans, and assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Support learners in achieving their qualifications and preparing for progression into apprenticeships or employment.
  • Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievement.
  • Promote high standards of health and safety within all practical and classroom-based activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and external agencies to enhance learner experiences and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification and/or experience within the Construction sector.
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience up to Level 2 preferred.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Strong practical knowledge, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Available to start immediately and open to long-term employment.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
