Job summary

A leading community-focused funeral service provider in Northampton is seeking a part-time team member to assist in funeral services. Responsibilities include collecting the deceased, bearing coffins, and maintaining cleanliness in facilities. A full UK manual driving licence is required. No prior experience necessary as full training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

  • Full UK manual driving licence required.
  • Ability to provide empathetic customer service in emotional situations.
  • Ability to handle physical aspects of the role (manual lifting).

Responsibilities

  • Collect the deceased professionally from various locations.
  • Bear coffins and operate funeral vehicles.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
  • Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
  • Prepare the deceased for viewings and funerals.

Job description

Part time 15 hours per week, working a variety of shifts Monday to Friday 8am-5pm - as part of this role, you’ll also be part of the on call rota

What you’ll do
  • collect the deceased from a range of locations and scenarios in a professional and empathetic manner
  • bear coffins and drive funeral vehicles
  • maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles
  • prepare coffins and engrave name plates
  • prepare the deceased in our care for viewings and the funeral
