Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is hiring a part-time Funeral Director in Nottingham (NG18 1RB). You’ll balance managerial tasks with client-facing duties, including planning, transport, and care of the deceased, while working across two funeral homes: Rainworth and Ollerton.

The role involves an on-call rota on weekdays 5pm–8pm and weekends on a rota, with Monday and Tuesday 9am–5pm hours. Not experience needed; we value empathy, strong people skills, and a commercial focus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure client needs, service levels and KPIs are met.
  • Be the main point of contact for clients with the wider team support.
  • Support funerals – conduct the ceremony, lead the team and handle the deceased when needed.
  • Refer regulated work, including funeral planning appointments, to a certified colleague.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the team, clients and community.

£15.27 per hour plus benefits

Part time 15 hours per week, Monday 9am-5pm and Tuesday 9am-5pm - as part of this role, you’ll also be part of the on call rota, Weekdays 5pm-8pm and weekend Saturday or Sunday on a rota basis shared with other Funeral Directors, covering Two funeral Homes - Rainworth and new Ollerton

Please note all positions within Funeralcare can involve direct physical contact with the deceased as part of normal duties – the amount of contact will differ dependant on role applied for.

Typical duties include but are not limited to preparation, transportation, and personal care of the deceased to be carried out with professionalism, dignity, respect and adherence to health and safety standards.
