Job description
Overview

Our client is a Big 4 firm and they have a team which has a track record of swift progression for people who are passionate about the Funds sector. They are looking for a Tax Assistant Manager to join the team.

Because of the nature of Funds clients, this team allows (unusual for a Big 4) the chance to help clients through the entire life-cycle/ecosystem of their business. Instead of being purely deals-driven this means work also includes compliance (review not delivery as there is a separate Compliance team), Consulting and Advisory work. The tax work covered is very broad and can be Corporate, Private Client, Partnership or Employment (plus they have dedicated Transfer Pricing and Indirect Tax team members to support you).

Responsibilities
  • Support a broad range of tax work across Corporate, Private Client, Partnership and Employment tax, with dedicated Transfer Pricing and Indirect Tax team support.
  • Engage with Funds sector clients through the entire business lifecycle, including compliance review (not delivery) and related consulting/advisory work.
  • Communicate tax concepts and issues clearly to finance staff and to non-finance stakeholders; provide commercial as well as regulatory guidance.
Who should apply
  • Both candidates from mid-tier firms or from Big 4 seeking to broaden their exposure in Funds, with an interest in Funds and the market.
  • A willingness to be trained on Funds and the sector, with demonstrated research into the Funds market.

The client base does not tend to have in-house tax staff, so the ability to communicate tax ideas to varied audiences and provide both commercial and regulatory advice is important.
