About the Neuberger Berman UCITS Fund Platform: Neuberger Berman’s platform offers our strongest investment capabilities under a UCITS fund umbrella. The complex consists of 50 funds across equity, fixed income and alternative strategies and has $34bn in AUM. It is distributed globally and is supported with offices and professionals in Europe, Asia, LATAM and the Americas.

This role requires an individual with extensive UCITS and QIAIF experience along with experience of a global distribution model. The candidate should have knowledge in and understand all aspects of the UCITS product lifecycle, processing of rebates and global distribution platforms. In this role, the candidate will ensure the continued development and execution of the UCITS operating model, taking into consideration the regulatory and business environment that the funds operate within. The candidate will also participate in Fund related initiatives as they arise and requires working cross functionally with a large number of teams in Portfolio Management, Sales, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Product Development, Corporate Finance and various external vendors that provide services to the UCITS fund range.

Role Overview
  • Member of the Fund Operations Team who are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day service provider operations for the UCITS and QIAIF platform

  • Manage the relationships of the extensive network of global distribution platforms that the business deals with.

  • Understanding of the European and US dealing infrastructure key (NSCC, Clearstream, Calastone, etc.)

  • Oversee the external transfer agency relationship looking for continuous improvement,

  • In depth knowledge of rebates and setting up new clients for rebate purposes is a key part of the role.

  • Coordinate product implementation in conjunction with various teams throughout the global business

  • Maintain close relationships with global business support teams in both US and Asia

  • Monitor and measure the impact of all regulatory developments on the firms UCITS and QIAIF fund range

  • Establish new procedures and enhance existing processes by seeking ways to improve and streamline them including any efficiency gains that may be realised through alternative/automated methods.

  • Handle certain RFP and due diligence meeting information requests

  • Closely oversee, and coordinate updates to legal agreements

  • Drive the effort for creating efficiencies within the team and remove manual processes where possible

Requirements
  • Demonstrable 5+ years’ experience in UCITS and QIAIF operations

  • Strong understanding of a global UCITS funds business, and the client rebate process is key.

  • Ensuring SLA requirements are met and monitoring key supplier controls

  • Participating in regular meetings with service providers

  • Reporting of key management information to the business through participation in various board meetings, and internal governance committees.

  • Experience with the NSCC / distribution platforms a bonus.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate issues, propose and implement solutions, and consider all downstream implications

  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail.

  • Show determination in achieving objectives that have been agreed.

  • Leads and takes ownership of client queries and other tasks and accepts responsibility for them; knows when to involve others or escalation.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross functional team.

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proactive attitude, commitment to continuous learning, and a willingness to challenge status quo to improve processes.

  • Ability and willingness to drive change in a dynamic fast paced environment.
