A healthcare charity in Walsall seeks a Fundraising Support Officer to enhance community engagement and manage fundraising activities. The role involves updating social media, managing events, and collaborating with volunteers. To provide efficient, effective communication face to face, on social media and in writing to promote, publicise and grow the charity. Support engagement with Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, volunteers, patients, families and visitors, businesses and community groups. The Fundraising Support Officer must feel comfortable negotiating and working collaboratively with different supporters to deliver maximum engagement. To manage and proactively develop the Fundraising Hub sales from within the hub and through social media. Support and liaise with the Fundraising Volunteers. Manage the bookings for the stall holders in the atrium on a daily basis, fairs and events. With the support of the Communications Team, ensure the charity website is current and updated. To actively source and publicise appropriate sporting events for colleagues to participate in and manage the enrolment process. To actively support the growth of the charity marketing pack. To manage the sale and upkeep of artworks around the hospital including liaising with the artists. To provide a comprehensive administrative service to the charity and Fundraising Manager. Occasional weekend/evening work will be required. To support with the implementation of an engagement calendar across the Trust and Walsall borough. To ensure the charity’s social media and website are current and up-to-date, producing content where appropriate on a regular basis. To be the welcoming face of the Fundraising Hub, supporting the volunteers to ensure the hub is well managed, stock tidy and replenished. To manage daily cash inflow. To undertake specific fundraising projects and attend events as necessary or required to support fundraising. Work with the Fundraising Manager to develop annual plans. To support with engagement across the Trust and Walsall borough to include schools, clubs, businesses, supermarkets. To support collaborative working and build on relationships between the Your RWTC charity, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare charity. Supporting with research to identify/source and make contact with new potential relationships or other opportunities to increase fundraising income. To be part of the co-management of fundraising volunteers. To represent the charity at presentations, events, meetings and networking opportunities when required. To support visits (including high profile and VIPs) to the Trust. Liaising with Trust colleagues to arrange visit schedule, request DBS checks, conduct risk assessments for the visit and where appropriate supervise the visit.
Support the co-ordination of fundraising events, coordinate guest lists, acquire corporate support, book venues, pre/post communications for the event and thank supporters following the event.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
