Job summary

National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking a Fundraising Manager to grow income through grants, trusts and foundations across the Midlands & East regions. The role blends office work with site visits, 30 hours per week over 4 days, and a hybrid pattern backed by strong stakeholder collaboration.

We’relooking for aFundraisingManager to join ourMidlands & East ofEngland SpecialistDeliveryTeam, supporting projects and programmes across the country by securing funding from Trusts, Foundations, Grants as well as well as partnership fundingopportunities.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders,you’llplay a key role in helping the National Trust deliver ambitious plans for people,placesand nature inthe Midlands & East of England.

Location: As this role covers the Midlands & East region , your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust hub /property to your home. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places and at our partners.We’lltalk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.

Hours: Working 30 hours per week over 4 days

First round interviews will be held onWednesday 7 th October virtually.

Internally you’ll be known as Fundraising Consultant.

OurMidlands & EastSpecialist Delivery team works alongside colleagues across properties,portfoliosand specialisms to help unlock funding and support for some of the Trust’s most important work. From historic landscapes to nature recovery projects and community engagement, no two days are the same.

You’llbe part of a small, supportive fundraising team that values collaboration,learningand shared success. We work closely with General Managers, propertyteamsand national specialists, helping build confidence and capability around fundraising while strengthening relationships with funders and partners.

What you'll be doing

You’llhelp grow income across byidentifying,developingand securing small to medium sized grants (up to £100k), while also supporting colleagues with largerplace-basedprojectfunding, includinglarge National Lottery Heritage Fund bids.You’llwork with internal teams to shape compelling fundingpropositions,manageexistingandcultivate relationships with funders and donors, ensure funding is managed,monitoredand evaluated in line with requirements.

Alongside this,you’llprovide advice,guidanceand practical support to colleagues, helping embed a positive, confident fundraising culture.You’llkeep up to date with the funding landscape, share insight across teams, and ensureaccuraterecord keeping and compliance across all funding activity.

• experience of fundraisingand bid writing, or a professional fundraising qualification
• a track recordof identifying, securing,managinggrantsand working with Trusts and Foundations
• confidence working with a range of stakeholders and external partners
• strong written communication and organisational skills
• an interest in supporting nature,heritageand community focused work
