City Bridge Foundation is a 900-year-old charity that owns and maintains five of London’s Thames bridges, including Tower Bridge. Since 1995, we have awarded over £840 million to charitable organisations.
Our Standing with Londoners funding policy, launched in March 2025, focuses on changing the systems that keep people marginalised, while also addressing the issues communities face right now.
As a Funding Officer, you’ll be at the heart of the day-to-day delivery of our charitable funding, processing applications, supporting existing grants, responding to enquiries and helping to keep our funding processes running smoothly.
Working collaboratively as part of a team of Funding Officers, you’ll provide administrative support, advise organisations receiving or seeking funding and help monitor our grants portfolio.
You’ll handle a wide range of enquiries from grantees and other stakeholders, using your knowledge, judgement and relationship management skills to provide clear and helpful responses. You’ll also support colleagues, take responsibility for your own learning and look for ways to continually improve our service.
If you enjoy being organised, working through tasks carefully and methodically, and get satisfaction from knowing things have been completed accurately and thoroughly, this could be the role for you.
You’ll enjoy handling a wide variety of enquiries and using your judgement and problem-solving skills to find answers, including when you come across questions you haven’t dealt with before. You’ll combine a keen eye for detail with excellent administration and customer service skills and enjoy working collaboratively in a busy team.
You’ll have experience providing administrative support in a charitable or similar organisation, advising stakeholders, working collaboratively in a small team and managing data.
You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent IT literacy and the ability to manage competing deadlines without compromising quality. You should also have a good understanding of funding in the voluntary and community sectors.
We are a values-based organisation and welcome applications from all sectors and communities. Equity, diversity and inclusion are as important in our staff and governance as they are in our work. We support flexible working and job-shares.
We are a Disability Confident employer and positively welcome applications from disabled people.

Because our roles are so varied, we don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ policy for workplace attendance. How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.

We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
