Vacancy: Functional Skills Tutor (VN2414)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage learners alongside an eLearning portfolio to maintain progression to timely achievement of the required aim
- Maintain and support the required number of learners and progress in line with KPI’s
- Deliver remote learning and assess short courses remotely as required
- Assess initial assessment results and carry out further diagnostic assessments as appropriate, supporting learners with identified additional needs for functional skills
- Ensure the quality of the learning experience is maintained on programme, for CPD, essential skills and Function Skills learners
- Maintain records of learner’s progress and achievement and communicate these to Skills Coaches, IQA, learners and employers as required
- Liaise with Administrator to ensure funds are open for both additional learning support and Functional Skills
- Maintain high standards in completion and timely submission of reviews
- To support and adhere to internal and external quality assurance processes and procedures
- To support standardisation of the quality of delivery of Functional Skills within team
- Advocate the importance of Functional Skills amongst colleagues, employers, and learners
- Maintain and reconcile exemption certificates
- Maintain and reconcile invigilation records of all exams taken
- To support learners to remain fully engaged with their Functional Skills programme, adapting and tailoring the approach as per learner requirements
- Remain up to date with current trends and themes inspected by Ofsted, whilst ensuring Functional Skills delivery is consistent with IQA and regulatory standards
- Knowledge and familiarity with awarding organisations for apprenticeship standard qualifications

About You
Teacher, training qualifications or equivalent (e.g. PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert-Ed)
Skills & Experience
- Experience of 12+ teaching, learning and assessment remotely and face to face on employer premises as required
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload
- Well‑developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Honesty and reliability
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Ability to motivate and inspire individuals to learn and achieve through face to face and remote media interactions
- Delivery of Functional Skills at Level 2 required but not essential
- Experience of Ofsted Inspections would be beneficial
