Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated tutor in Preston to support vulnerable and disengaged young people. You will plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 and boost engagement and attainment.

This part-time, contract role starts ASAP and continues on an ongoing basis, with sessions in the community or pupils' homes. Applicants with QTS or tutoring experience and UK classroom exposure are preferred; a DBS certificate is required.

Qualifications

• QTS or tutoring experience preferred.
• UK classroom experience preferred but not essential.
• Creativity and patience required to engage disengaged pupils.
• Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge KS3/KS4 gaps.
• Deliver engaging sessions in Preston in community or home settings.
• Monitor progress and adapt lessons to raise attainment.
• Collaborate with families and schools to support student needs.

The successful tutor must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels.

As such, we are looking for a passionate, creative and holistic tutor, eager to provide academic support and guidance to students in a one-on-one or small-group setting, improving their educational journey.

• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
