Functional Skills Tutor

Hours: Full‑Time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week. Location: Birmingham (Stechford). Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience & qualifications.

Are you a Functional Skills Tutor looking for a new role? We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Functional Skills Tutor. As a Functional Skills Tutor you will support students to achieve their functional skills qualifications in both English and Maths up to Level 2. We are looking for someone who can motivate, engage and inspire learners to achieve their full potential whilst on our programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and ensure lesson plans are prepared.
• Achieve company KPI’s and Individual Performance Plan.
• Plan embedded learning for groups and individuals.
• Develop delivery to maximise progression opportunities for learners.
• Create conditions in the training centre(s) that help develop each learner’s confidence.
• Regularly assess learners' work.

Requirements

• Experience delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English to Level 2.
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in 14-19 provision.
• Full Teaching Qualifications (e.g. Cert Ed, C&G 7407, CTTLS, DTLLS).
• Passion and desire to teach.
• Willingness to undertake any relevant Teaching Qualifications if required.
