Job summary

An educational organization in Harlow is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor to support a Year 12 student with functional skills in Maths and English. The tutor will deliver personalized one-to-one sessions, helping the student to re-integrate into education and prepare for upcoming exams. The position is temporary, offering 15 hours per week at a rate of £25 per hour via an umbrella company.

Qualifications

  • Child-related or Education qualification is essential.
  • Previous UK education experience preferred.
  • Experience working with SEND is necessary.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.

Functional Skills Tutor - Harlow

We are looking for a tutor to work with a Year 12, supporting them with functional skills Maths and English in preparation for exams.


As an Outreach Tutor, you'll create, plan and deliver personalised 1:1 sessions. Your role is to support their re-integration into education, offering tailored tuition that replaces school during this period and prepares for functional skills exam. This will be for 15 hours per week.

Your Role:



  • Provide one-to-one for students with SEND, helping them build confidence, life skills, independence, and safe community access.

  • Create and adapt individual lesson plans that target specific learning needs.


Eligibility:



  • Child-related or Education qualification.

  • Previous UK education experience.

  • Experience working with SEND.

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.

  • Ability to provide references for the past two years.
