Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a part-time Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English to Apprentice learners in a centre-based setting with occasional home working. The role involves planning and delivering 1:1 and group sessions, assisting with curriculum design, and conducting initial assessments via BKSB with targets logged on learner ILPs.

Applicants should have a Level 3 Teaching qualification (or higher), proven energy and passion to motivate learners, and a commitment to equality,

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths.
• Hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching qualification (or above).
• Experience delivering on 1:1 and group sessions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Functional Skills Maths and English to Apprentice learners, in 1:1 and group settings.
• Assist with designing and developing the Functional Skills curriculum, adhering to learner needs and awarding body standards.
• Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments via BKSB and log targets on the ILP.
• Be flexible with delivery methods, providing differentiation and adapting to learners' needs.
• Assist learners in identifying skills to progress towards career aspirations.
• Demonstrate energy and passion to motivate and train learners to realise their potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Duties:

• To plan and deliver Functional Skills Maths and English to Apprentice learners, delivering on a 1:1 and group basis.

• Assist with the design and development of the Functional Skills curriculum, adhering to bespoke learner needs and awarding body standards.

• Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments via BKSB, to identify learner needs, and ensuring their targets are logged on their ILP.

• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.

• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate / train clients in order to help learners realisetheir potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Essential Criteria:

• Must have experience of delivering Functional Skills EnglishandMaths.
• Hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching qualification (or above).
• Experience of delivering on a 1:1 and group basis.
• Must hold own Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (or GCSE equivalents).
• Demonstrableenergy and passion to motivate and train clients.
• Ability to overcome challenges and support learners to progress.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrate confidence, tenacity and ability to work on own initiative.
