Job summary

Trigon Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Functional Skills English Tutor to work at HMP & YOI Chelmsford. The role involves delivering City & Guilds Functional Skills English from Entry Level 1 to Level 2 and supporting learners through engaging, inclusive lessons.

You will assess learners, develop ILPs, and help progression into further education or employment, while adhering to safeguarding and quality standards within a prison education setting.

Qualifications

• Essential: Level 3 qualification in English or equivalent.

• Provide constructive feedback and developmental support.
• Implement reasonable adjustments to support learner success where required.
• Support learners with additional learning needs and barriers to education.
• Build learner confidence, resilience and self-belief.
• Promote reading, literacy and independent learning.

We are recruiting an enthusiastic and inspiring Functional Skills English Tutor to join the education team at HMP & YOI Chelmsford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate English Teacher, English Tutor, Functional Skills Tutor or Adult Education Professional looking to use their skills to make a genuine difference to people's lives.

As a Functional Skills English Tutor, you will deliver City & Guilds Functional Skills English qualifications from Entry Level 1 to Level 2, helping learners develop the literacy, communication and employability skills needed to progress into further education, vocational training and sustainable employment.

Working with small groups of learners, you will create engaging and inclusive learning experiences that build confidence, improve achievement and support rehabilitation through education.

Key Responsibilities
