Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an adaptable Functional Skills English & Maths Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition in St Helens. The role focuses on delivering tailored Functional Skills tuition and supporting English and Maths development.

You will plan sessions around individual targets, identify gaps, adapt resources, and build learner confidence while recording progress. A DBS update and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching or tutoring English and/or Maths.
• Functional Skills experience desirable.
• Strong communication and numeracy skills.
• Experience supporting learners with additional needs or gaps in education advantageous.

Requirements

• Previous experience teaching or tutoring English and/or Maths


• Functional Skills experience desirable


• Strong communication and numeracy skills


• Experience supporting learners with additional needs or gaps in education advantageous


• Patient and encouraging approach


• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one


• Right to Work in the UK


• Two professional child-related references
