The School of Mathematics and Computer Science offers a first‑rate research environment that brings together mathematicians and computer scientists in the state‑of‑the‑art Computational Foundry. The School welcomes applications for CSC Scholarships in the following areas:
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent, with a first‑class honours degree and/or a distinction at master’s level. Where applicants have multiple master’s degrees, a distinction must be held in the degree most relevant to the intended PhD study. Current master’s level candidates must obtain an ‘award’ prior to enrolment to allow visa application and travel. Non‑UK degree holders should consult the Swansea University degree comparisons for eligibility. The scholarship covers tuition fees in full and provides up to £1,000 per year for research expenses. The programme commences in October 2026; deferral is not permitted.
Applicants must meet the Swansea University English Language entry policy. If applicable, IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each component or an equivalent recognised by Swansea University is required.
Due to funding restrictions, this scholarship is open solely to applicants who hold Chinese National Status. International applicants are eligible for the Swansea University International Postgraduate Research Excellence Scholarship (SUIPRES). SUIPRES covers the difference between international and home tuition fees for the duration of the PhD/Professional Doctorate programme, with successful candidates charged fees aligned to the UK rate per year.
