Software Engineering - Full Stack (Search Experience)

Location: Manchester

Contract Duration: 10 Months Contract and can be extended.

As part of our Cars Search Experience Team, you will be at the heart of the customer journey-modernizing the systems that handle search requests, power real-time filtering, and drive global conversions.

The Tech Stack

• Backend: Node.js, TypeScript, Microservices.
• Frontend: React, TypeScript.
• Cloud: AWS native services (EventBridge, SQS, Lambdas).
• Architecture: Scalable, high-performance, event-driven systems.

What You'll Do

• Drive Evolution: Take ownership of microservices and contribute to the transition toward AWS-native, event-driven architectures.
• Build the Experience: Develop end-to-end features that help customers discover, compare, and book the perfect vehicle at the right time.
• Experiment & Innovate: Use a data-led approach to development, launching experiments to drive customer satisfaction and conversion.
• Ensure Reliability: Advocate for best practices, including robust unit and integration testing to ensure system performance and data integrity.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ Years of professional software development experience.
• Node.js & TypeScript Expertise: Strong proficiency in building and operating production-grade backend services.
• Frontend Fluency: Hands-on experience with modern React frameworks.
• Microservices Experience: A must-have understanding of distributed systems.
• Cloud Native: Familiarity with AWS (specifically SQS, Lambda, or EventBridge) is a significant plus.
