Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Gateshead. You will support pupils with complex needs, including autism, communication and sensory needs, helping them engage with learning and develop independence.

Qualifications

• Experience with pupils with SEND or complex needs is preferred.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding checks and relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils throughout the school day.
• Helping learners participate in classroom activities.
• Developing communication and interaction skills.
• Supporting sensory and practical activities.
• Assisting with personal care where necessary.
• Encouraging pupils to become more independent.
