Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school supporting secondary pupils with a range of additional needs. The successful candidate will work with the class teacher and support team to provide tailored assistance and help students overcome barriers to learning.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with autism, learning difficulties, and communication needs, while delivering engaging activities and promoting

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in SEN or secondary settings.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Confident in supporting learners with additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive and passionate about making a difference.
• Willing to provide personal care when required.
• Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged pupils.
• Support pupils with autism, learning difficulties and communication needs.
• Deliver engaging, accessible and practical learning activities.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and communication development.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene routines as required.
• Help create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
