Job summary

Ideal for All in Sutton Coldfield is hiring two Personal Assistants (PA) to support a thoughtful 25-year-old man with autism, anxiety, and sensory processing needs. This on-site role is 38 hours per week, paid at £13 per hour, with two positions (1:1 indoors and 2:1 outdoors).

You will help with daily routines, communication via AAC, and community activities such as walks and cafes, while promoting independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting autistic people with complex needs.
• AAC experience preferred.
• Higher education experience desirable.
• CPI training desirable.
• Patient, calm, emotionally intelligent, and compassionate.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a thoughtful, intelligent 25-year-old man with autism, anxiety, and sensory processing needs to live an independent and fulfilling life.
• Assist with communication using his AAC device.
• Encourage self-expression, choice, and meaningful interaction.
• Engage him in his interests (history, culture, and film).
• Provide 2:1 support in the community.
• Assist with walks, café visits, and other activities.
• Support daily routines, independence, personal care, and emotional wellbeing.
• Recognise and respond to anxiety, sensory overload, and behaviours of concern using a calm, person-centred approach.
