Job summary

LiveWest is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join the Estates team in a full-time, mobile role serving the Yeovil area. You will cut grass, manage hedges and shrub beds, operate a range of horticultural machinery, and report any defects or safety issues using handheld devices.

You will need a full UK manual driving licence and a willingness to undertake DBS checks and ensure safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or similar outdoor manual roles.
• Experience operating horticultural equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grounds maintenance: grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, leaf clearance and shrub bed care.
• Operate and maintain horticultural machinery safely (mowers, brushcutters, hedge cutters, blowers).
• Inspect communal areas and report defects, fly-tipping, vandalism and safety concerns.
• Keep tools and equipment in safe order and report faults promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and promote a safe working culture.
• Engage politely with customers and refer issues as needed.
• Record completed work using handheld digital devices.
• Support Estates team with seasonal and emergency tasks (gritting, reactive work).
