Kinder Nannies & Staff Ltd. is seeking a warm, affectionate German-speaking nanny to care for two children in SW12, London. This is a sole-charge, full-time role focused on the children, with light related housekeeping and daily routines including the school run.

The ideal candidate will speak German exclusively to the children, be proactive, energetic, and able to stay long-term with the family. DBS and Paediatric First Aid within 3 years are preferred, and driving is a plus.

Qualifications

• Fluent German required.
• At least 5 years of childcare experience.
• Right to work in the UK, living within reasonable commute of London SW12.

Job Description

On behalf of our clients we are looking for a warm, affectionate German speaking nanny, to care for 2 children on a sole charge basis. One child, aged nearly 5 yrs, is the Reception class at school, and the younger child, aged 2yrs, is at home. Both parents work full time full time.

The nanny they have employed for the past 5 years is sadly now returning to her home country.

The family employs a full time housekeeper, therefore your role is very much focussed on the children, as a nanny/ nanny-educator; nurturing them, taking care of all daily nursery related duties and encourage their learning.

The role comprises, getting the children ready for the school run.

Arranging daily activities and playdates for the 2yr old, while her brother is at school.

School pick up in the afternoon, after school activities.

" Taking baby to the park and baby groups, setting up fun, interesting and educational activities both indoors and out. You are happy to get down on the floor and play at the baby's level. Arranging 2 way playdates. You will, ideally, have knowledge of early childhood development. You will have experience with aged 2 til 10, as hopefully, you will stay with the family for the next 5 years and be there to guide them through the next 5 years and next developmental stages. You will be a proactive and organised self-starter. Good, clear communication is important as the parents want to have a good relationship with their nanny.

They have a housekeeper,however, you will be responsible for ensuring child related housework is completed (laundry, tidying up after mealtimes and messy play, keeping the children's environments clean and tidy).

Flexible on start date, nanny can start in December or in January - which is probably the better time to start if it is good for both sides.

- Nanny to interact with children only in German. Family employs a housekeeper cook.

A nanny who is genuinely, warm and very affectionate but who can also be firm when required, would work best for the children. Both children are well behaved, with a normal amount of curiosity and self awareness. The 5 yr old is quite independent for his age, while the 2 yr old is still more clingy. Both are used to having a nanny in their lives and occasionally different babysitters (the family does not require their nanny to babysit, apart from on exceptional occasions and then with plenty of notice.

Nanny should be fit and active and able to run after lively children.

We are looking for a nanny who can demonstrate longevity in previous roles where they have worked for 2+yrs generally.

Hours of work :

Nanny is not required to travel with the family and is not required for additional babysitting nor weekends - your free time is your own!

Requirements

Previous sole care experience of 2 children of different ages

Outdoorsy, active nanny, with lots of initiative and energy. Trustworthy and reliable.

Up to date Enhanced DBS (be on DBS update service, or go on it)

Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate (within 3yrs)

Right to work in UK, living within reasonable commute of London SW12

Good references for recent and relevant nanny or childcare work and show longevity

Be able to engage in play at floor level for extended periods of time

Fluent German

Driver greatly preferred.
