Job summary

Bloomsbury Football Foundation in Leicester is seeking a dedicated football coach to lead community coaching sessions within the Programme team. You will plan engaging, inclusive sessions and deliver high-quality coaching that supports youth development and well-being.

Responsibilities include building strong relationships with young people, parents and venue staff, while contributing to programme improvement and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Essential coaching qualification: UEFA C (or equivalent).
• Up-to-date Safeguarding and First Aid certificates.
• Experience working with children and young people in a sporting or educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the delivery of regular coaching sessions across Communities and Special Projects programmes that support impact goals and youth development outcomes.
• Create engaging, age-appropriate and inclusive session plans catering to a wide range of abilities.
• Deliver high-quality coaching reflecting commitment to belonging and progression on and off the pitch.
• Create and maintain positive relationships with young people, parents, partners and venue staff.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and represent Bloomsbury Football Foundation professionally.
• Contribute to ongoing coaching quality and programme improvements.

In 2018, Bloomsbury Football Foundation started with four kids and a bag of footballs on a housing estate in Camden. Today, we reach over 6,500 children and young people every week across London and we're just getting started.

In 2018, Bloomsbury Football Foundation started with four kids and a bag of footballs on a housing estate in Camden. Today, we reach over 6,500 children and young people every week across London and we're just getting started. We exist because not every child grows up with the same opportunities to play, belong, and progress. Too many young people are locked out of the game by cost, circumstance, or geography. We're changing that and using football, the world's most popular sport, as a powerful vehicle for health, wellbeing, and social change. It's not about producing stars. It's about shaping better futures. In just a few years, our income has grown from £1m to over £5m. We're now expanding beyond London into areas of deprivation across the country, with ambitions to reach over 40,000 young people every week by 2031. No other sport-for-good charity in the UK has achieved scale at this level. We intend to be the first. Key Responsibilities

Session Planning & Delivery:

• Plan and lead the delivery of regular coaching sessions across Communities and Special Projects programmes that intentionally support Bloomsbury Football's impact goals and youth development outcomes.
• Create engaging, age-appropriate and inclusive session plans that cater to a wide range of abilities, promoting physical, social and emotional development.
• Deliver high-quality coaching that reflects Bloomsbury's dedication to purpose, belonging and progression on and off the pitch.

Relationship Building & Communication:

• Create and maintain positive relationships with multiple stakeholders including young people, parents, partners and venue staff
• Communicate effectively and confidently with young children, parents and other stakeholders
• Represent Bloomsbury Football Foundation professionally at all times, embodying our mission to transform lives through the magic of football.

Programme Development & Improvement:

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of coaching quality and programme delivery
• Bring creativity and innovative ideas to sessions and the wider coaching team
• Be proactive and excited about getting involved with all that Bloomsbury Football has to offer

Safeguarding & Professional Standards:

• Uphold Bloomsbury's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people
• Maintain up-to-date safeguarding and first aid certification
• Work flexibly and professionally across different settings and venues including schools and external community venues

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

• UEFA C coaching qualification (or equivalent)
• Up-to-date Safeguarding and First Aid certificates
• Experience working with children and young people in a sporting or educational setting
• Knowledge of Leicester and its communities, with existing local networks an advantage
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings and weekends (up to 6 days per week)
• The right to live and work in the UK (we do not sponsor visas)

Desirable:

• Experience delivering inclusive or specialist football provision (disability, refugee, or girls' football)
• Experience working in a charity or social enterprise
