Job summary

Levl, a fast-growing fintech, is hiring a full-time UK-based Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend services and frontend applications powering its cross-border payments platform. The role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and security in a hybrid work environment near London.

Requirements include a strong CS foundation, Java and microservices experience, fintech or payments background, and proficiency with REST APIs, SQL, messaging, and cloud/CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

• Strong CS foundations in data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Java and microservices.
• Experience in fintech, payments or trading backend development.
• Strong OOP and design patterns knowledge.
• Experience with REST APIs, SQL, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of payments, crypto, or FX trading is a plus.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate in a hybrid environment and take ownership of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and frontend web applications powering Levl’s global payment infrastructure.
• Focus on reliability, scalability, and security in all solutions.
• Implement new features and optimize APIs and data flows daily.
• Integrate with internal and external payment systems; collaborate with product and operations teams.
• Write clean, testable code; participate in code reviews; improve system performance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation.
