Job summary

Digital Waffle is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to design, build and operate production systems that translate AI model capabilities into fast, observable APIs used across mobile and desktop clients. Location: UK-based remote, full‑time role.

You will implement end‑to‑end features across frontend, backend and AI integrations, build stable APIs, monitor and diagnose production issues, and optimize performance and reliability for long‑running workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals in production environments.
• Familiarity with AI inference patterns (LLMs, embeddings, multimodal systems).
• Ability to debug distributed systems under load.
• A bias toward shipping, learning, and iterating from real production behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Building end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and AI integrations.
• Building APIs that are stable, well-designed, and integrate seamlessly with frontend systems.
• Detecting production issues, diagnostics, and resolving issues quickly, minimising user impact.
• Continuously improving our product based on real usage, increasing performance and reliability over time.
• Working on systems that serve AI-powered features in production.
• Inference pipelines, orchestration layers, and service boundaries around models.
• Production operations including monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response.
• Performance optimisation across latency, throughput, caching, batching, and streaming.
