Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to design, build, and optimise scalable web applications. The role focuses on front-end development with React and Python, and deployment to cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

You'll collaborate with backend, cloud, and AI teams to deliver production-ready solutions handling large data volumes, with emphasis on performance, observability, and reliable deployment pipelines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Senior fullstack Developer or similar role.
• Expert knowledge of React and Python with modern patterns, hooks, state management, and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience deploying applications to cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and container-based deployment models.
• Experience working on applications that handle large datasets or high-traffic environments.
• Strong understanding of front-end performance, observability, and optimisation techniques.

Responsibilities

Project Description

WS1 is an initial workstream focused on building an AI / agentic capability on Azure using Python. The team will shape and deliver an early solution in partnership with the business, establishing the technical foundations, architecture, and product direction for the wider programme.

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fullstack Developer with deep expertise in React and strong experience deploying applications to cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure (AWS experience also welcome). This role will focus on building, deploying, and optimising scalable, high-performance web applications that handle large volumes of data and integrate AI-driven components.
