Job summary

LA International in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced full-stack Java developer to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable enterprise applications using Core Java (JDK 21+), JPA/Hibernate, Spring, and microservices.

You will build RESTful APIs with OpenAPI specs, manage OAuth2/JWT security, and work with SQL/NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms like AWS/OpenShift in an Agile team.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in full-stack development with hands-on coding in Core Java (JDK 21+), JPA/Hibernate, Spring, and caching concepts.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Data in the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience building secure, scalable applications following enterprise design principles.
• Strong RESTful API development and consumption with OpenAPI/Swagger knowledge.
• Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, and TLS for API security.
• Good relational database development with RDBMS and exposure to NoSQL.
• Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns.
• Code reviews and applying feedback effectively.
• Knowledge of SonarQube and security scanning tools.
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, Git, and CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab).
• Good understanding of Agile practices.
• Familiarity with AWS or OpenShift cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of unit testing and test automation.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Job description

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Proficiency in full-stack development with hands‑on coding experience in Core Java(JDK 21+), JPA/Hibernate, Spring framework, and basic caching concepts
• Knowledge of Spring ecosystem technologies including Spring Boot and Spring-Data
• Experience building secure and scalable applications following enterprise design principles
• Solid coding practices for RESTful API development and consumption with understanding of OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
• Understanding of API security protocols and authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT) including TLS.
• Good database development skills with relational (RDBMS) databases and exposure to NoSQL technologies
• Experience with microservices architecture and event‑driven design patterns
• Ability to participate in code reviews and apply feedback effectively
• Understanding of code quality tools like SonarQube and security scanning tools
• Familiarity with developer tools including Maven, Gradle, Git, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab)
• Good understanding of Agile development practices
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or OpenShift
• Knowledge of testing methodologies including unit testing and test automation
• Good communication skills and team collaboration abilities

• Experience with frontend technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and exposure to frameworks such as Angular or React
• SQL optimization skills with Oracle or similar RDBMS
• Experience with API documentation tools
• Troubleshooting capabilities for resolving performance issues
