Full-Stack Engineer - Finance Technology

Java | Spark | Cloud | Global Investment Bank

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite)

We're hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to join a high-impact Finance & Regulatory Technology team within a top-tier global investment bank. This team is responsible for building strategic, cloud-first data solutions and modernising legacy platforms that support critical regulatory reporting across the firm.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative Agile squad, building scalable backend services and data pipelines while partnering closely with Finance and Regulatory stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to contribute to high-visibility projects in a fast-paced environment where innovation and best practices are valued.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build full-stack applications for finance and regulatory reporting
• Develop Java backend services and Spark-based data pipelines
• Modernise existing systems into scalable, cloud-native solutions
• Handle complex datasets and ensure data integrity across platforms
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and automated testing frameworks

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in full-stack development
• Strong core Java skills (Scala knowledge is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with Spark or other distributed computing tools
• Familiarity with Azure or similar cloud platforms
• Experience working with relational and/or cloud databases (Snowflake, Sybase)
• Front-end development using Angular or similar frameworks
• Comfortable in Unix/Linux environments
• Agile and DevOps mindset
