Job summary

Experis UK is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable digital solutions for Defence and Security clients. You will work across the full SDLC, delivering secure, high-quality applications to support mission critical operations.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build user-focused products, integrate modern technologies, and leverage cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS or Azure to improve outcomes, while adhering to secure practices.

Qualifications

• Active DV Clearance is essential.
• Experience in full stack development across frontend and backend.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure).
• Experience in secure or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack applications across front-end and back-end technologies.
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performing web applications and services.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, architects, and delivery teams to deliver user-centred solutions.
• Develop and integrate APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
• Contribute to solution architecture, technical design, and technology selection.
• Implement software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, version control, and CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, performance, and security issues.
• Produce technical documentation and communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across the development team.
• Experience developing full stack applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and version control (Git).
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience developing solutions within secure or regulated environments.
• Experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud services.
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
