Job summary

Wessex Internet in Blandford Forum is seeking a Build Assurance Engineer to join the HSEQ team, supporting quality assurance across our full-fibre network builds. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will audit sites, monitor compliance, maintain build data and manage defects through to final acceptance.

This hands-on role blends field audits with data analysis and system support, helping identify issues early, drive improvements and ensure our network is built to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA and site audits across telecoms or civil projects.
• Ability to verify data integrity and manage defects through to resolution.
• Strong IT skills and quick learner of new systems.

Responsibilities

• Quality assurance and site audits: Review build compliance data and carry out site audits to ensure work meets company standards, specifications and health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Build data integrity: Verify the accuracy and completeness of field data recorded within GIS systems, ensuring reliable information throughout the build process.
• Defect management: Take ownership of the defect management process, tracking issues from identification through to resolution and final acceptance.
• Compliance guidance: Develop and distribute toolbox talks to help build teams understand and follow the required quality and compliance standards.
• Project reporting: Provide project managers with accurate information to support monitoring, reporting and escalation of quality and compliance issues.
• Systems and team support: Support build teams with system integration and compliance queries, working closely with the Senior Build Assurance Engineer to maintain an efficient build process.
