The role

As a Fuels Group Operator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be working at the heart of a unique airfield environment, supporting critical operations and contributing to the success of our mission.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities:

  • Prepare refuel vehicles, conduct fuel testing, and complete additional tasks as required by supervisors or site management.
  • Carry out all duties in compliance with military regulations, using a range of civilian and military equipment, and adhering to approved Safe Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Complete daily first and last vehicle checks, promptly reporting any defects or unserviceable conditions to the Fuels Manager.
  • Operate a mixed fleet of mechanised equipment, ensuring proper training and authorisation before use.

This role is full time working 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Northolt, London. It typically involves an average of 37.5 hours per week, worked on a 12‑hour shift pattern (4 days on, 4 days off) covering a 24‑hour operation with both early and late shifts. Due to the nature of military support, occasional overtime may be required to meet operational demands.

Essential experience:

  • Previous experience working with fuels in either a civilian or military environment.
  • Proficient in using IT systems for reporting, record‑keeping, and operational tasks.

Qualifications:

Holds a valid DVLA Category C licence along with a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (DBS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
